If you are like me, you are probably growing tired of hearing the same ol’ line from attorneys.  If you have recently been injured in a semi accident, car accident, truck accident, tractor trailer accident or motorcycle accident in Missouri or Illinois, and you have hopped on the internet and searched for an Illinois injury attorney or Missouri injury attorney, you are seeing a lot of the same thing.  You are seeing things like “best Missouri truck accident attorney” or “best car accident Illinois attorney”.  You are stumbling across websites that all show the same thing – where the lawyer went to college, where the person went to law school, where the attorney first worked, and all of the fancy awards that the accident attorney has won.  SO WHAT?  While it may be important to confirm that the lawyer does indeed have a license to practice law, I am sure you are interested in other things.

Will your attorney listen to you?

Has the attorney handled similar cases before?

Will the attorney give you her cell phone number so you can reach her whenever you have questions?

Will the lawyer speak to you in a way that you can understand, instead of trying to use fancy lawyer words?

Does the lawyer take every case that walks in the door and therefore, doesn’t have enough time for your case?

Does the lawyer let her paralegal or secretary handle your case or will the lawyer handle your case?

Can you see prior client testimonials?

When you have been injured, it is extremely important that you find an attorney that you feel comfortable with.  Take the time to read about your attorney and even more important, spend time talking to this potential attorney, in person, to see if it is a good fit.
