accident.jpgMissouri Interstate 70 at Highway K near O’Fallon, Missouri proved to be the site of a serious accident today. The car crash only involved one car – a car that apparently struck the median. At the time of reporting, the factual circumstances surrounding the crash were not known. The driver of the vehicle involved had to be extricated and transported via helicopter to the nearest trauma center. All lanes on I-70 were temporarily closed following the impact.
Over the years, multiple I-70 accidents have claimed the lives of Missouri residents. Frequently, these accidents have occured during morning or evening rush hours. This accident didn’t occur until late morning, when traffic was lighter than the rush hour traffic. There could be several explanations for this car crash. The driver may have had a seizure or passed out or even swerved to avoid something in the road. Most likely, the highway patrol will investigate further into what happened today. As a Missouri automobile accident attorney, I am familiar with single car crashes. Although at the onset it seems the driver would be the only one to blame, oftentimes, there is another explanation for the ultimate crash.
