ALS (amyotrophic lateral schlerosis) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive disease that attacks nerve cells in both the brain and the spinal cord. When the motor neurons die, the individual’s brain becomes unable to control muscle and movement to the point where all movement ceases. Unfortunately, ALS is a fatal condition for which there is no cure.
