Serious Car Crash Claims Lives of Branson Women

On October 1, 2010, in Auto Accident, by K. Lindsay Rakers

As a Missouri personal injuriy attorney, it always angers me to hear about accidents caused by drunk drivers. Recently, a car accident cause by a drunk driver claimed two Missouri victims. A 25 year-old woman passed away at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. The previous day, a 24-year-old died as a result of her injuries, the Springfield News-Leader reports.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the two young women were killed as a result of a car crash when the driver of the car they were riding in ran a stop sign and crashed into a rock embankment. The 25 year-old male driver was seriously injured and taken via helicopter to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The police report indicates that none of the individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Missouri car accidents in 2008 caused 960 fatalities, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. What’s worse is that the driver of this particular car was charged with drunk driving. It is always sad to hear of senseless deaths such as this. Reports indicate that those with the driver offered to drive the car that night but he refused.
